Tūturu hosts Schools Social Service Health Expo in Canterbury
News 9 May 2023
On 3 May, Tūturu, in collaboration with the Mana Ake Provider Network and Te Whatu Ora, hosted the Schools Social Services Health Expo in Christchurch.
The event showcased the abundance of resources available in Ōtautahi, with 55 health services participating. Around 240 people attended from various sectors, including education and healthcare. The expo's primary goal was to strengthen the connections between school staff and these services and enhance the wellbeing of rangatahi and whānau within school communities.
Leigh Hogg, the Ōtautahi Christchurch Tūturu Lead, saw the event as a meaningful way for schools to connect with services and learn about what is on offer for rangatahi in the Canterbury District.
"Tūturu had a lot of interest from schools and this opportunity generated high interest, showcasing the potential for success when schools collaborate with Tūturu," she says.
"The feedback we received noted the high quality of our curriculum resources and support Tūturu can offer schools. This was a fantastic opportunity to connect with more schools and to let them know how a whole school approach can create systematic and positive changes in the school environment."
