Partner with Tūturu

Find out more about what it's like to to work with us.

“Having the support of Tūturu was invaluable. It reassured us that we weren’t alone in addressing complex issues. Their cross-curricular approach added depth to the learning, showing students how the same topic can be explored through different lenses.”

We offer a range of options for secondary schools to engage with us. You can choose the level of engagement, noting that this often changes over time and is often topic or issue specific.

Secondary schools that partner with us have free access to a wide range of resources and facilitated professional learning and development including help to establish pastoral care pathways so their students can access appropriate health and social services.

Start where it makes sense to you and your school community. We can tailor how we help you to fit what you need.

"I think having an external person come in, someone I trust, they’ve just come in and complemented everything we’re doing... the survey, the discussions.

They haven’t come in and try to push their own agenda and their own plan, they’ve literally given us the framework, taken the kids ideas, and we’ve gone with that. I really like that.“

— Head of Department

How do you want to engage with us?

Partner with us

Partnering with us is for schools who are interested in a deeper level of engagement with Tūturu. A Tūturu lead works in partnership with a school to establish a dedicated team, review the situation across the four main areas of focus for Tūturu (school climate, pastoral pathways, professional learning and development and curriculum), and co-develop a tailored plan for Tūturu action.

Secondary schools that choose to partner with Tūturu are provided with free access to a wide range of resources, facilitated professional learning and development including assistance with establishing pastoral care pathways to ensure that their students are able to access appropriate health and social services.

School norms, organisational structures, teaching/learning practices and interpersonal relationships between staff and students are all determining factors for the wellbeing and achievement of rangatahi/young people. A positive school environment will promote student connectedness, a safe learning environment and the formation of positive relationships.

As we focus on assisting secondary schools to make changes to the school climate, to partner with us, secondary schools are required to complete the School Wide Reflection Tool, which identifies the school climate as perceived by staff and students.

Select the resources you need

While the Tūturu team is always contactable via email to help with any questions a school may encounter, this option will have minimum support and may be suitable for schools who want to explore Tūturu more independently.

“Tūturu has helped streamline our pastoral systems, offered valuable advice about the 'landscape' of support with our wider community (we have a very new team here) and have been professional and supportive throughout. We are really grateful that this service exists.”
