Problem Gambling Foundation and Tūturu featured on Morning Report
News 18 December 2024
For the past year, the Problem Gambling Foundation and Tūturu have been working together to address the growing issue of youth gambling. As the lines between online gaming and gambling become increasingly blurred, particularly when it comes to loot boxes, young people are at greater risk.
On 18 December 2024, Andrée Froude, the Problem Gambling Foundation's Director of Advocacy and Public Health, spoke with Corin Dann on RNZ's Morning Report about loot boxes and gambling within games. You can listen to the interview here.
In mid-2025, Tūturu will release free resources on gambling, gaming, and gamification. These resources will focus on challenging misconceptions, fostering essential social and emotional skills, and helping young people make informed choices about gambling. The resources will be free to download on this site.
PGF also has a resource for parents and caregivers to speak to young people about gambling. That's available here.
