Christchurch Tūturu Lead, Leigh Hogg

With more than 20 years of experience in training and education, Leigh has worked extensively with both adults and youth. As a former member of the New Zealand Army, she served for nine years and was deployed on operational duties. Leigh has managed numerous youth and education programs aimed at achieving positive outcomes for Rangitahi.

With a background in learning and development, she is particularly passionate about Rangitahi hauora (the holistic health and wellbeing of young people).

Tūturu Lead, Mac Stephenson

Mac’s background is in acute adult mental health, primarily supporting adults experiencing suicidal thoughts. He then moved into youth mental health, where he felt he could make more of a difference working with at-risk young people. His most recent role was leading a team delivering wilderness therapy for youth.

Following the birth of his daughter, Mac moved into the Tūturu Lead role. He looks forward to spending fewer nights in the bush and more time working with schools to promote youth wellbeing.

In his spare time, he is a Coast-to-Coast athlete. You’ll often find him running with his dog and daughter through the Garden City.
